“School My Sheep” School Supply Event August 4th

Dear Middle Families,

Just a reminder that students at the middle school will be issued school supplies for the 2018-2019 school year.  This information was shared in a letter that was mailed home toward the end of last year.  The following link is a copy of the letter

School supply letter link

As stated in the letter, families will still be responsible for providing students with book bags, headphones, and art pouches.

In an effort to help families acquire some of the items that the school district will not be providing, families are invited to attend an event called “School My Sheep” put on by Lodi United Methodist Church located at 320 Medina Street.   The event will take place on August 4 from 8am to noon.  Families with students will be able to get various school supplies, including folders, headphones, and even clothing and book bags.

If you do not need anything but would like to donate, the church is accepting the following items:

  • For high school: binders, folders, paper, and jeans (with NO rips) and tennis shoes
  • For middle school: book bags, wired mice, Headphones,  zippered pencil cases, jeans (with NO rips) and tennis shoes
  • For elementary: headphones

These items can be dropped off at the church.

What a great event!  If you have something, give something.  If you need something, come get what you need.

Enjoy what’s left of the summer.  We will see you all soon!

6th Grade First Day- Monday, August 20th

This post is to inform our families of a recent change to the school calendar.

Over the past several years the middle school has been working to improve the transition for students from the elementary school to the middle school.  Our work in this area has been motivated by the challenges our 6th grade students and parents have shared with us in previous years.

In an effort to address the struggles of our students and to make the middle school a positive environment for learning we have implemented a 6th Grade First Day.

This year the middle school will hold our first 6th Grade First Day on Monday, August 20th.  This means that the first day of school for 6th grade students, and any new to district 7th and 8th graders, will be Monday, August 20th. The first day of school for 7th and 8th grade students will be Tuesday, August 21st.

The purpose of the 6th Grade First Day is to allow 6th graders, as well as, new to district students to get exposed to the building schedule, expectations, processes/procedures, and to begin building positive relationships with our staff.

To our incoming 6th grade students and new students- we cannot wait to welcome you to the middle school.  To our 7th and 8th grade students, you get one more day to sleep in before having another great year at Cloverleaf Middle School!
