CMS- Start of the School Year Information

The 2018-2019 school year is just on the horizon!  We have been very busy preparing for a successful year.  Below I am sharing important information families need to be aware of.  

In addition, I am providing a link that highlights important dates for the entire school year.  These dates are subject to change for a variety of reasons.  If a date change would occur, the individual responsible for the event(s) will communicate the change.  

AUGUST

  • 4th: Book bags, specific supplies, shoes, coats and clothing will be available from     8 am-noon at Lodi United Methodist Church 320 Medina St. Lodi.  Although supplies are limited, all are welcome to attend.  This is an open and free community event to help local families send their students back to school.  For additional details of this event click here.  
    • Just a friendly reminder that the district will be distributing to students the initial student supplies for the 2018-2019 school year. Click here to view the letter that was mailed to families this past spring sharing the details.  
  • 9th: 6th grade schedule pick up 2PM-8PM (Informal touring of the building with staff available to answer questions).  Any student who is unable to pick up their schedule during this time can do so at Open House.
    • In order for students to receive a schedule, the Back to School Portal MUST BE COMPLETEDIt is suggested that parents complete the Back to School Portal prior to coming to the school to pick up their child’s schedule.  If it is not completed prior to visiting the building, parents will need to complete the form at the school in order to receive a schedule.  The following  link will take you to the Back to School Portal.  
  • 13th: Tdap & Meningitis Shots at CMS (Medina Health Dept. 10am-12pm) Click here for additional Details from the District Nurse
  • 14th-17th: 7th and 8th grade schedule pick up during office hours (8:00 AM-3:30 PM).  Any student who is unable to pick up their schedule during this time can do so at Open House.
    • In order for students to receive a schedule, the Back to School Portal MUST BE COMPLETEDIt is suggested that parents complete the Back to School Portal prior to coming to the school to pick up their child’s schedule.  If it is not completed prior to visiting the building, parents will need to complete the form at the school in order to receive a schedule.  The following  link will take you to the Back to School Portal. 
  • 15th: 7th/8th Grade Open House (5:30PM-7PM)
  • 15th: 6th Grade Open House (6:30PM-8:00PM)
  • 16th:  Fall Sports Pictures (3:00 PM CMS gym or cafe)
  • 20th: First Day of School for 6th Grade (New to District 7th and 8th graders).  Click here for details.
  • 21st:  First Day of School for 7th & 8th Grade
